I came to Blackmere to prove something.

Gothic estates were never just beautiful, corridors narrow choice, and inheritance hardens into expectation long before anyone calls it tradition.

Blackmere admits five students each year. This semester, they admitted six.

I didn’t come for Roman Dacre.

He’s a fourth-year PhD candidate. Engaged. Barred from evaluating me or his fiancée—my competition for one of those five places.

This department runs on reputation and implication.

I know how quickly a narrative can close around you.

Except the way Roman looks at me across a seminar table doesn’t feel academic. It feels like a man who never takes risks realizing he wants to take one with me.

I didn’t expect to want the man who’s spent years believing he’s above this.

Especially when I can see exactly how close he is to stepping off the edge.

UNTIL THE THORNS BLOOMis a dark academia romance featuring gothic romance, a love triangle, professor x student, forbidden attraction, academic rivals, and an ambitious heroine. Blending haunting atmosphere, forbidden desire, and slow burn tension, it’s perfect for readers who love morally gray heroes, dark academia, forbidden romance, emotional angst, gothic settings, academic romance, and high stakes love stories.

“You did that in every letter.” He traces his index finger along the desk. “Especially when you were mad. You said ‘the most dangerous thing about being seen is realizing you can’t go back to being unknown.”

  • Good pace, fun characters, interesting premise. I really like Diana’s strength and the connection she feels with Roman.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

  • This was so good. Diana and Roman were everything. The intensity between these two was so hot. Even though this was a novella, I didn’t put it down until I was finished. This pulled me in and there was no stopping until I reached the end. This was spice at its finest. Loved this so much.
